Santa’s Secret

I designed and built a custom HTML website for Santa’s Secret, with an online shop connected to the Square point of sale system in the physical store. The website extends the shop’s existing inventory online, bringing its character, products and stock together in one experience.

01 / THE BRIEF

Bring the shop online.
Keep its character.

Santa’s Secret is Kim’s shop in Bungendore, filled with handcrafted decorations and curious treasures. The website needed to reflect that distinctive world, help people plan a visit and let customers shop from further afield.

The practical brief was just as important: make the online shop an extension of the Square system already used at the counter, so Kim could manage the physical and online range from the same catalogue.

02 / HOW IT WORKS

Bring the magic online.
Leave the extra admin behind.

Square holds the product catalogue, prices and stock for the physical shop. My website uses that same information to build the online range, with collection filters that help customers find what they’re after.

Kim chooses which products to offer online in Square. The website brings those selected items into the shop and checks availability again before checkout. The connection keeps the online store tied to the inventory used at the counter.

03 / HOW I BUILT IT

A custom shopfront.
A connected catalogue.

  1. 01

Create a world to step into.

I built the HTML website around forest-green tones, gold details, expressive typography and photography of the real shop. Collection galleries and clear visit information carry its sense of discovery through the site.

  2. 02

    Let the collections lead.

Christmas pieces, bespoke wreaths and custom ribbons each have their own place to explore. Styled imagery and collection galleries show the details, while opening hours, directions and contact options make a visit or bespoke enquiry simple.

  3. 03

    One simple tag. Automatically online.

Kim adds the “Website - Sell Online” category to a product in Square, and it appears automatically in her online shop. I built the Square connection around her existing catalogue. The website reads the selected products and presents them in my custom shop layout, without a second catalogue to maintain.

  4. 04

One place to manage the stock.

The online shop reads product details, prices and stock from Square, with availability checked again before checkout. Kim keeps managing her products in one place, while the website takes care of bringing the selected range online.

04 / THE RESULT

A little magic.
A lot less admin.

A distinctive HTML website and a custom online shop that works with the Square point of sale system in Kim’s physical store. The online range is an extension of that store’s inventory. She chooses which products appear online with a simple category tag; the connection handles the listings, prices and stock information. Less double-handling, and more time for the shop and the people in it.
