Toys Of Yesteryear Shop
I designed and built a custom website for Toys Of Yesteryear Shop, Ben’s vintage toy and Australiana art shop in Bungendore. Ben only had a Facebook page for his business, so I made something pretty special: a website of its own at a new web address, bungendore.toys.

01 / THE BRIEF
From a Facebook page.
To a front door of its own.
For years, Ben collected vintage toys and dreamed of opening a toy shop. In September 2025 he did it, opening a shared Artists Shed space in Bungendore with his wife Carole and artist Margaret Hadfield.
Online, the shop only had a Facebook page. Ben needed somewhere people could see what’s inside, hear the story behind it and find their way to the verandah. A place that felt as full of character as the shop itself.
02 / THE FIRST IMPRESSION
A web address
worth remembering.
Every good shop deserves a name that’s easy to find. bungendore.toys says exactly where the shop is and what you’ll find there, so it’s simple to say out loud, print on a card or paint on a sign.
The homepage opens on Ben’s pedal cars lined up outside, with warm creams, a deep green and a toy-box red. Before reading a word, visitors get that “I used to have one of those!” feeling.

03 / HOW I BUILT IT
Made for browsing.
Best in person.
- 01
A peek through the shop door.
A gallery of 17 photos lets people wander the shelves before they visit. They can filter by pedal cars and planes, toys and collectables, or art and nostalgia, then tap any photo for a closer look. A gentle note reminds them to ask Ben what’s currently available.
- 02
Two worlds, one little shop.
Vintage toys and Australian fine art sit side by side in the shop, so they do on the website too. Pedal cars, die-cast models and familiar characters share the page with landscapes and native birds.
- 03
The story behind the treasures.
An “Our story” section introduces Ben, Carole and Margaret, and the wider collective of artists who share the space, with links to the shop’s features in About Regional and on Visit NSW.
- 04
Plan the visit.
The address, Google Maps directions and an email link to Ben are all in one place. Facebook still has its job: a friendly note sends people there for opening updates and the latest finds before they make a special trip.
04 / THE RESULT
A shop worth the drive.
Now easy to find.
Toys Of Yesteryear Shop now has a website that feels like stepping into yesterday. People can browse the treasures, meet the people behind them and plan their trip to Bungendore, all from one memorable address. Facebook keeps sharing the latest finds, and the website gives the shop a proper home.
