A little slime.
A big idea.

01 / THE STORY
Their idea.
A place to grow.
This one is close to home. Bubble Slime is my daughter and her friend’s handmade-slime venture, born from something they love making together. Their enthusiasm is the heart of the business; my part was helping give it a home on the web.
The brief was to make the site feel as bright and playful as the slime, while keeping the useful things easy to find: the collection, the makers’ story, ingredients, care information and delivery details.
This is a personal family project, not an external client commission. It is a small-business website with a very personal beginning—not a generic shop with a logo dropped on top.
02 / LOOK & FEEL
Colour you can feel.
Character in every jar.
Soft blue and sunny yellow lead the palette, with pink, mint and lavender through the collection. Chunky lettering, rounded shapes and bold outlines give the site a playful, handmade feel.
Custom vector jar illustrations carry that personality from the homepage into the shop. Different colours and little details give each slime a recognisable character, while product imagery from Square can take its place as the catalogue grows.
The result is a consistent visual world across the homepage, shop and information pages, rather than a collection of unrelated screens.
03 / MADE TO PLAY
A website with
a little squish.
The interaction is part of the design: floating bubbles, a squashable jar, small pop effects and an optional sound toggle. Visitors can also take a break with a board of 40 poppable bubbles, a running count and a refill button.
These details connect the browsing experience to the product. There is something to explore before choosing a jar, without taking the shop or the practical information out of reach.

04 / THE SHOP
Playful on the surface.
Practical underneath.
- 01
Help people find their texture.
Search and category filters let visitors explore fluffy, doughy and bubbly slimes, plus bundles and surprises. Product details open without losing their place in the collection.
- 02
Keep the products in one place.
The catalogue reads product names, descriptions, prices, images and tracked stock from Square. Updates belong in the product system, rather than requiring every card on the website to be edited by hand.
- 03
Build the basket around real availability.
The shop includes jar options, quantity controls, a basket saved in the visitor’s browser and delivery-cost information. The checkout integration rechecks prices and stock on the server before creating a payment link.
- 04
Connect the shop to Square checkout.
The checkout integration is built to send shoppers to Square’s hosted payment page after server-side price and stock checks. Card and delivery details are entered with Square, not collected by this website. At the 15 October 2026 review, the Square catalogue was live but online checkout was not yet enabled. The live shop shows its current ordering availability.

05 / THE USEFUL DETAILS
Not just a pretty
product shelf.
The About page gives the makers’ story its own space. Separate ingredient and care information, shipping and returns pages, and an FAQ help visitors find the practical details alongside the fun.
I built the public pages in HTML, CSS and JavaScript, with server-side functions for the Square connection. Responsive layouts, a mobile menu, labelled controls and keyboard-friendly product dialogs are part of the build—not a different experience tacked on for smaller screens.
06 / WHAT I BUILT
