1973.ai

The games of the ’70s, reborn in the browser.

Why it exists

No client, no market, no business case — 1973 was simply a very good year to be born. Some projects exist because building them is the point, and a studio that never builds for joy forgets why it builds at all.

The build

A growing arcade of the decade's classics, recreated with AI and playable free in the browser — period-correct monochrome and all. The self-playing Snake on this page is the house style: in 1973, even the games were black and white.

The outcome

New cabinets keep arriving, and they'll keep arriving until the whole decade lives in one place. It's also the studio's proof of pace — each game is a small, complete thing, shipped fast.
