Preserving a life for the family who comes after.
The problem
When someone dies, their family loses them twice: the person, and then — slowly, as memory fades — their voice, their stories, the way they told them. Most life stories are never recorded because recording feels like a production: apps, accounts, sittings, someone technical in the room.
The build
Trudy is a gentle, unhurried weekly phone call that draws out a life story one conversation at a time — a voice warm enough that the Storyteller forgets the machine and just talks. It needs nothing but a phone that rings. The waveform on this page is the whole product: speech at its own pace, and real pauses to listen.
The outcome
A life, preserved for the family who comes after — and connection and meaning for the person living it, while they're still here to feel it. Named for Trudy: a nurse, a midwife… my mum. No family should have to lose someone's voice twice.
